Birth-year coin cufflinks are handmade using genuine coins dated with the year in which the recipient was born. The original coins are cleaned, polished and securely set into cufflink fittings, creating a wearable piece of history.

At Birthday Cufflinks, customers can choose from Irish coins dating from 1928 to 2014, subject to the coins currently available.

4. Do you use genuine Irish coins?

Yes. Our coin cufflinks are made using genuine coins rather than reproductions. Because the coins previously circulated, small variations and signs of their history may be visible. This means each handmade set can be slightly different.

5. Are the cufflinks handmade in Ireland?

Yes. Our cufflinks are handmade in our studio in Dalkey, County Dublin, Ireland. Each set is made individually rather than mass-produced by machine.

6. Which years are available?

We offer Irish coin cufflinks from many years beginning with the first Irish Free State coinage in 1928 and continuing into the euro era to 2014. We have thousands of Coins which we clean, polish and mount into Cufflinks.

  7    Are the cufflinks engraved or personalised?

No. We do not engrave or personalise the cufflinks. Their personal significance comes from choosing a genuine coin bearing the recipient’s birth year, wedding year or another meaningful date.

14. How quickly is an order dispatched?

Orders are normally processed and dispatched within 24 hours of receipt. If an item has a different processing time or the workshop is temporarily closed, this will be displayed on the website.

15. How long does delivery take?

Delivery times are estimates and can be affected by postal services, customs and busy seasonal periods. If a gift is needed by a particular date, customers should order as early as possible.

16. Do you deliver outside Ireland?

Yes. Birthday Cufflinks ships internationally.  Delivery charges are displayed at checkout after the customer enters the destination address

We offer a flat shipping charge in Ireland of €6 for P&P.

17. Can the order be sent directly to the gift recipient?

Yes. Enter the recipient’s address as the delivery address during checkout. The cufflinks will arrive in their presentation box.

You can add a Gift message as well and we will include this with the order.

18. What is your returns policy?

Products can be returned within 30 days of receipt. Once the returned product has been received, refunds are normally processed within three days. Products may also be exchanged for another product of similar value.

Customers should contact us before returning an item so that we can provide the correct return instructions.

19. What does the 100% satisfaction guarantee mean?

We want customers to be satisfied with the quality of their purchase. If you are not satisfied, please contact us and the product can be returned in accordance with our 30-day returns policy.

Prices vary according to the coin, year, rarity and design. The current price is displayed  on each product page, and the presentation box is included, prices start at €59 up to €129 depending on the year.

Some older Irish coins are scarcer than others, so the price can vary according to the year, denomination, condition and availability of the genuine coin. The current price for each available set is shown on its product page.

22. How durable are coin cufflinks, and how should I care for them?

Keep the cufflinks dry and store them in their presentation box when they are not being worn. Avoid contact with chemicals, perfume and abrasive cleaning products. As genuine coins are used, their finish and appearance may naturally vary over time.

What are Coin Cufflinks by Year

You choose the year of a special event – Say your husbands 60th birthday – from the drop down menu choose the year they were born and it will take you to the product for a coin from that specifc year. We make the Cufflinks ahead of time so they are ready to ship.

Do you clean the coins ?

Yes, we wash and tumble the coins and then hand polish them to bring them back to their former glory.

When will the order be dispatched ?

We aim to have all orders processed and in the post within 24 hours of receipt
